Taichi and Qi-gong, which combine movement, meditation, and regulation of breathing to enhance the flow of Qi (an ancient term for what is believed to be “vital energy”) in the body to improve blood circulation and boost the immune functions, have been a part of traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds and thousands of years. Invited by the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a group of Taichi and Qigong super-masters from China will lecture and demonstrate on Taichi and Qi-gong, as well as their applications to health and wellbeing.
